This extension helps you send the YouTube video (or channel) you are viewing to your own, already-signed-in Google AI tools — Gemini (for summaries) and NotebookLM (as a research source). This policy explains exactly what the extension does with data.

Summary (the short version)

• We do not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data to the developer or any third party.
• There are no analytics, tracking, ads, or external servers of any kind.
• Everything happens locally in your browser and within your own Google sessions.

What the extension accesses

• The current YouTube page: the video's title, channel name, and URL; and — only if you turn on the optional “transcript” mode — the video's captions/transcript text shown by YouTube.
• A channel's public video list: when you choose “add whole channel to NotebookLM”, the extension reads the channel's public video listing (including its RSS feed, youtube.com/feeds/videos.xml) to get recent video links.

What the extension stores (locally, on your device)

• Settings (e.g. summary source, prompt template) via chrome.storage.sync.
• A local history of summaries you triggered (video title, URL, thumbnail link, time, and the resulting Gemini conversation URL), capped at 100 entries, via chrome.storage.local. You can clear it anytime from the popup.
• Transient “pending task” data (the prompt or URLs to hand off), via chrome.storage.local; it is deleted right after it is used.

This data never leaves your browser. Uninstalling the extension removes it.

Where data goes

The only place the extension sends anything is into your own logged-in gemini.google.com and notebooklm.google.com tabs — it types/pastes the prompt or video URL into their input fields, exactly as if you did it by hand. Your use of those Google services is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The extension itself has no server and sends nothing to the developer.

Permissions, and why they are needed

• storage — save your settings, local history, and transient tasks (all on-device).
• Access to youtube.com — show the action button on watch/channel pages, read the current video's info/transcript, and read a channel's public video list.
• Access to gemini.google.com — open Gemini and fill in the summary prompt.
• Access to notebooklm.google.com — open NotebookLM and add the YouTube URL(s) as a source.

What we do NOT do

We do not sell or transfer data to third parties; we do not use data for advertising, creditworthiness, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single feature; and we do not collect personally identifiable information, health, financial, or location data.
